Product Description

Cornflower Blue Boy is the bloom for you, especially if you're thinking of growing a fabulous wildflower display through late summer. Growing to heights around 80cm, this cornflower is wonderful with pollinators and for filling a vase! These blooms are great for pollinators. If you leave the seed heads to dry, they provide a great source of food for birds during the winter. Sow inside or under cover from March to May for an earlier bloom or for a later bloom the same year, or from August to September for an earlier bloom the following year. Can be sown directly outdoors March to June or August to September.

Growing at a glance…

Start indoors 4 to 6 weeks before May to give them plenty of time to establish. Sow seeds outside to a depth of ¼ inch. Press in well as they love darkness. Tolerates an array of soil types and aren't picky on whichever you choose. When seedlings are 5-7cm tall, thin to 15-20 cm apart and replant before flower buds appear. May take around 3 months to harvest from sowing.
