Growing at a glance…

Lemongrass can be a fussy seed to germinate, but with consistent conditions, they'll thrive. Sow indoors from January to April, preferably in a heated greenhouse or propagator. If you have neither of those fancy gadgets, then pop the trays into a sealed plastic bag and place them on a warm windowsill. However, if the soil gets too hot, the seed will enter dormancy. Keep at temperatures of 20-22°C. When the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into larger pots. Acclimatise to outdoor conditions over 1-2 weeks once the danger of frost has passed.
