Growing at a glance…
Sow seeds from February to April outside or May to August inside. If planting inside, pop them in seed trays, keeping them warm as they germinate. Once germinated, grow seedlings on in cooler conditions, often under a cold-frame, until they reach around 5cm tall. Then transplant outside. If growing directly outside, pop them in your desired location and firm seeds into the soil. Remove any large lumps, weeds, or rocks from the soil before planting. Thin seedlings about 10cm apart once grown, replanting the thinned plants. Avoid using fertilizer on this plant, as this will promote more foliage to grow than flowers.
